Is Bad Design Ruining Business?

Gone are the days, when business used to pay less attention towards customer satisfaction, loyalty, improving usability of their products, ease of use, and pleasure provided in the interaction between the customer and product. With the advancement in technology, companies have become more customer-centric and want to give the best to their customers in order to gain their confidence and loyalty. User experience is one such factor that makes or breaks the business.

A good design has become more important than ever. User experience has many elements and aspects of a person's interaction with a given IT system, including the interface, graphics, industrial design, physical interaction, and the manual. Some of them are:
  • Visual Design-represents the aesthetics or look-and-feel of the front end of any user interface. It gives a visual perception or a cognitive perspective on how to create effective visual communication.
  • Information architecture- is the way of structuring and organizing information for products and services, supporting usability and ability to find them easier.
  • Usability- describes that a product can be used by a selected segment of users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction.
  • Accessibility- it describes the ease of reach, use and understanding of a system.

A website wireframe design is also an important element of user experience design. Also known as screen blueprint, a visual guide that represents the basic framework of a website. Wireframes are created for arranging different elements of a design to accomplish a better user experience.
